Online: THE OVERKILL FESTIVAL

The Overkill is an art, gaming, film and music festival hosted from Sickhouse, Enschede. Adapting to the corona regulations, we had to decide to transform our festival into a full online 10 days event from the 27 November to the 6 of december 2020. Rich of all the challenging, fun, weird experiences of the year we are now preparing ourselves to host another great and obviously experimental edition of The Overkill, under the theme "The end of the world as we know it".

In this online edition you will be able to discover a selection of art and video games in our online exhibition, designed by The Rodina, dance, learn and chat in our virtual hang out, designed by Louisa Teichmann and Noemi Biro, follow diverse stream from game talks to performances on our many streaming platforms and because we love you we are creating special (Over)kitts to receive at home and to use through the live events of the festival.

The online exhibition is open nonstop from Friday 27-11 to Sunday 6-12.
Our virtual hang out (a mozilla Hub) will be the meeting place for our live events.
The symposium, the talks and the screenings will be hosted on our streaming platforms.

When video games, often challenging you to save the world, are used as alternative space to resist oppressive governments, when films are re telling the stories we thought set in stones, to open our minds, when artists are engaged and push us to take action, we want to look into these scenarios to re-imagine our future. The theme of the festival is an invitation to look into the many crises we are living in. We are trying to find inspiration in the stories, the experiences and the ideas of our guests, artists, game makers and creative thinkers, to become active participants of a better world.
