COMMA SESSION #1— Dissonance

In collaboration with BlackBrick, COWMAG launches The Comma Sessions, a bi-monthly series of research events exploring the themes behind our upcoming publications. Each session takes a different form — from interactive workshops and movie nights to panel talks — offering space to experiment, reflect, and share ideas.
We begin with Dissonance, looking at misalignments in work processes, sound, identity, culture, experience and the awkward space between recognition and the unfamiliar.

To open the series, poet/artist Sep Friesema will host an experimental and immersive workshop where we’ll play, listen, and reflect together. Through shared contemplation, participants will collectively map their memories into a communal landscape — one that exists only through those who take part.

This imagined landscape will take shape in real life through a collective photo installation, created by printing, modifying, and collaging images of your own memories.

! Bring USB sticks, hard drives, cameras, contact prints, or anything else that holds your personal memories. !

Paper, printer, and additional materials will be provided.
