Visual artist and filmmaker Şirin Bahar Demirel presents her current research in terms of both form and concept. She has been focusing on matriarchal memory transmission through photos, domestic objects, and patterns, to re-imagine women’s stories that have historically been silenced and lost under patriarchal oppression, both in public and private spheres.

The visitors will see the experiments in different mediums and materials exploring this theme, such as image transfer on ceramic, mixed media collage, experimental animation, video art, and photography.
