Over het evenement

Aanstaande woensdag 9 september opent er weer een nieuwe Carte Blanche tentoonstelling bij B93. Dit keer door de kunstenaars Eve Haberman, Kashyap Krishna en Nikolina Karoulla. Hieronder vind je meer informatie over de inhoud en het werk in de tentoonstelling.

REST AND RESTLESSNESS
EVE HABERMAN & KASHYAP KRISHNA

In this exhibition, the couple present an installation born from an intimate real-time experiment of moving in together.
Bedsheets, shared everyday in moments of intimacy and rest, become bearer of feelings, thoughts and movement. The individuals are searching for identity and being and the couple is holding on to eachother. Rest and restlessness are witnessed by their shared sheets.

Moments are experienced by the individual and appear on either side and slowly merge into one another to form the shared experience. The bedsheets are (re)presented as loose sheets of a shared (personal) diary, for the world to bear witness.

THROUGH ROOT AND VEIN
NIKOLINA KAROULLA

This exhibition explores the fragile relationship between nature, memory, and human identity, and draws parallels between the branching structures of trees, family lineages, and the intricate pathways of the nervous system. Through these interconnected forms, the works reflect how memories take root, spread, and sometimes fade over time.

Nature serves as both a source of growth and a reminder of harshness. Trees weather storms, lose branches, and continue to evolve, much like personal histories are shaped by loss, resilience, and change. The paintings also examine how color and drippings can communicate emotion in different ways, depending on their movement, intensity, and placement on the canvas.
